As we were just coming out of two days of bad weather from the West, we stopped by River Shade RV for local guidance and to purchase water for our tank. The staff was very accommodating, courteous and helpful. Thank you so much!
Stopped by overnight. Spoke with Manager she promised to leave info package out door since I was arriving after hours. No package no access to facilities. I went to pay my fee in the am as instructed on phone. After paying and requesting bathroom access she informed they have to many drug addicts trying to use facilities so they have to be locked. When I requested access since that was the reason for choosing this place was the advertising of a 4 Star RV park with restroom, laundry facilities and more the manager started cussing saying she did not like my “accent” or tone of voice and I needed to leave immediately I am a Native Californian and a Native American so not sure what accent she is referring too. Pic of my rig below for reference
This RV Park is definitely a gem! It’s beautiful, shady, and very accommodating. The park is family owned and operated. They enforce rules so everyone can enjoy their stay in a family friendly and safe environment. They have continuous repeat customers who travel and are familiar with their guests. They lookout for one another in the park. I highly recommend this beautiful place that’s right on the Guadalupe River. * If your looking for a place to stay up and party all night or be rude neighbors - this is not the place for you!! Owners will not tolerate inconsiderate stayers and you will be asked to leave.
Great place to camp for a few days. We came for 4 nights and got a site overlooking the beautiful Guadelupe river. Full hookup sites come with free wi-fi and cable. Mostly perms at this campground, and not many kids which makes it really peaceful! The grounds are well kept and the river access for swimming, boating, floating, etc.. is good. Huge pecan trees everywhere, and lots of shade. Perfect place to camp in hot Texas summer! Not sure why the negative reviews. This is not a resort type place, so those looking for something like that would not like it here. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing time, River Shade is a good choice. We will come back. Maybe we will make this an annual vacation. It is one of the most beautiful campgrounds we've been to, with a site overlooking the river. If we had one of the inner sites with no river view, I don't think we would like it as much.…
Based on the internet, we pulled in for the night (7 pm) after driving for 6 hours. There was a shack with a NO VACANCY sign. All of the residences appeared to be permanent. The trees were so overgrown that we could barely turn around. There were no lights in the park.
