Our room on the second floor had a door that opened to the parking lot and a view out the back of the river. The wing I was staying in - all the rooms were configured this way on both floors. I would check with the very helpful owner and staff to find out if there are different rooms.
The town is within walking distance. It's a level walk on sidewalks. It's a mix of homes and businesses on the walk to town. I agree with the comment on the Prince and Pauper. We had our anniversary dinner there and they were so kind and thoughtful. It was a wonderful meal. Going the opposite way from the hotel and not easy walking (sideways start and stop) there is Worthy Kitchen which was wonderful. Enjoy!
King sized beds are available upstairs and down. Even if you have to lug suitcases upstairs, I personally would prefer to be upstairs as opposed to having someone above me thumping around in the middle of the night. Enjoy the river views and Worthy Kitchen - both are wonderful!
