Apalling guest service. For my 3rd visit (following 2 enjoyable stays) I was allocated room 0. Rooms 0 to 5 are directly above the Idle Tap pub. Music was very loud and intrusive rendering it impossible to sleep. Despite several calls and despite reassurances that the music would be turned down it continued until 00h18. Totally unacceptable and still no apology or compensation and no reply despite calls, many e-mails and several tracked letters. Not a single acknowledgement nor the courtesy of a reply. Shocking, disgusting, apalling, disrespectful and total disregard for guest service and guest satisfaction. I will no longer recommend this property nor give them my custom ever again.

Good afternoon, we are always very grateful for any reviews good or bad as this gives us chance to make changes. I would just like to begin by saying your stay was last year and it was under previous management, I do however have the details to hand so feel I must respond with some facts. We are very honest across all booking platforms that some of our rooms are above the pub but we do have rules in place for noise levels generally by 11pm the music is off. Our rooms are soundproofed ( we have also recently added the option of disposable ear plugs ). It is very rare that we get any noise complaints. On the night of your stay I believe you spoke with the owner on the out of hours phone who did apologise and asked you to give her a few moments to contact the pub, this was before 12am. She did this as quick as she could as she was not on site. It was a busy weekend and the pub had a band on but the music was then switched off immediately. I believe you then chose to carry on your stay and went to bed and that was the last anyone heard on the matter. It was only weeks later you started to request a refund that we didn't believe was warranted after we sorted the issue and you stayed with us and left without a word the next morning. We disagree with your comments on our guest service and satisfaction, we have a great team who always strive to make sure our guests are happy. We don't have many reviews on here but our booking platform reviews speak volumes on our establishment. We are very sorry you feel feel as strongly as you do but I believe this is now the end of the matter and I hope you enjoy any future stays elsewhere.

Really nice rooms, recently refurbished, clean and bright, well furnished and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and had really good sleeps, except for Saturday when the music in the pub went on until midnight. We were out late so only impacted for 30 minutes or so. Will stay again and would recommend.

We stayed for two nights and both thought the rooms were great value for money with good facilities and free parking on site in a great location for the town centre. I would stay again if in the area.

Great value for money easy to book and check in, parking on site, but have to book it when completing your booking. Good room very clean and upto date , not far to walk to all restaurants shops etc, make sure you have a walk down canal, it's only across the road

Room ok for what needed ! Bed comfy shame about the big mouthy bird cleaning ! Rude arrogant and swearing like an old farmer ! Disgusting attitude too shame for the place ! Maybe employ better staff and I would use again
