This hotel is well situated in the center of town; has a smal coffe bar , nicel littel atrium for the brealfast or a drink in the evening; breakfast ok; ambiente nice; people friendly; recently renovated; BUT NO AIRCODITIONING!! This is a bit tough in some rooms!! 50$ /night
I was attracted to this hotel because from the outside, it is one of the most stunning building in Lubumbashi. The Belgian manager told us it is a UNESCO-protected building. Between 1960-1980 it served as the Italian Red Cross Hospital, before reverting back to its original use as a hotel. Location is ideal, a block from the train station and city center. There is secured parking out front. The restaurant only provides Continental breakfast, but the delightful restaurant at the Park Hotel is just a block away. The rooms are reasonably priced. The more expensive rooms (with private bathrooms) are $50. Try to get a room on the second or third floor facing the main street. The rooms are very rudimentary. The helpful staff, however, is trying hard to maintain this faded gem. While charming even in its state of decay, it could be delightful with a thorough renovation. The colonnade balcony is a splendid, peaceful spot from which to watch the chaotic street life below.…
