Although I requested TripAdvisor to add this property to its site after staying here for 3 nights during the World Nomad Games 2018, I haven't been the first one to write a review. So now, after adding my pics, there's not so much I can say about this quiet, laid-back and family run hotel that user TraciShin hasn't already said in her review. I can at least add that the owners surprised me one evening when they knocked on my room's door, I opened it and I found them with a dish of grilled fish from the Issyk-Kul Lake they had just cooked, it was delicious! The owners are a very nice couple who mainly speak Russian and just a little English (we actually used an online translator to clarify some parts of our dialogues) but they really make you feel as if you were at home. Their property, it's true, is very close to the bus stop on the main road and close enough, on one side, to the center of Cholpon-Ata and, on the other side, to the lake. It's also true that the area between the bus stop and the hotel is poorly lit at night (it's not a bad idea to bring a torch or use your cell phone's light) but it's safe. From my point of view, the "most dangerous elements" you can find at night are some street dogs. I can also say that I used the laundry, which costed me 200 Som (this was, more or less, 2,50€). Then I hung it up on the clothes line that there is in the outdoor hallway as if I were at home :-) Allow me to mention that there is no breakfast included, but you can bring your own food and use the small fridge you have in the room and the tables and chairs found in the outdoor hallway or in the balconies. In case you choose this place when you visit Cholpon-Ata, I hope you have a stay as good as mine.

I stayed at Best for 8 nights during the September 2018 World Nomad Games. It is a great place and I highly recommend it. It is close to the bus station, so only a short walk away from my marshrutka from Bishkek. It is a 5 minute walk to the Issyk-Kul beach. There are lots of convenience stores and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The rooms are big, extremely clean, and well appointed. The bathroom is big and clean and has a long and wide shower curtain. Shower is hot and pressure is strong. The shower has lots of shelves for your soap and shampoo.
You can use their laundry machine for US$2.90, detergent included. There are lots of clothes lines to dry your clothes in the sun and even my heavy sweaters were dry within 12 hours. There are tea kettles on every floor and cups in the room so bring your own tea bags and instant coffee for the morning. If you forget, there will be lots of friendly neighbors who will offer to share with you.
I was thinking it might be an issue that there’s no air conditioning but actually it gets cold at night and I used both heavy blankets to sleep. Bed is big and comfortable, with big pillows. Lots of electrical outlets and two are close to the bed (can look at your phone in bed while it’s charging).
There is a full length mirror on the wardrobe.
The owners - such nice, nice people. Please choose this place. Thank you.

The laundry machine says it takes 34 minutes but it’s really more like an hour.
There is only one ceiling light and the switch is at the entrance, so when you’re going to sleep at night you have to cross the room in the dark.
WiFi can be a bit spotty at times but it was really fine. The toilet might need two flushes sometimes.
