We stayed here for 4 nights, the cottage was tired, and not clean. I turned down the bed on the first afternoon to find marks on the sheet, and the bedding smelt musty. I contacted the owner and asked for a clean sheet, she asked if I needed it that night, I said yes. The surfaces in the bedroom were covered in dust, as were tables etc. The cottage was well equipped. I note the other reviews, but they appear to be a few years ago. If you are used to a clean house this cottage is not for you. I dropped a ring on the last morning, and had to uncover it from dust and dirt in a corner, not good.
The cottages are situated in beautiful countryside. Well equipped, quiet and peaceful and comfortable beds. Car is necessary but an ideal base for walking and exploring. Very pet friendly, just had another wonderful week with usual warm welcome from Sue. Highly recommend
We stayed in August 2015. I have mobility problems and Cottoneaster Cottage was perfect. Quiet location with horses for company. Really well equipped, they really have thought of everything. Cosy, quaint and homely ideal for chilling out after exploring Scotland. Beds are comfy and with a dishwasher and washing machine it was perfect. You can order online from Asda and they will deliver on your arrival day. Sue is very welcoming and friendly and there's lots of info about places to go. Most places of interest weren't very disabled friendly and are very hilly, however we hired a mobility scooter from a nearby town and it managed the hills very well. Jedburgh Abbey is lovely and well worth a visit 😊 Planning to go back in 2017.
Wonderful week in a fabulous cottage. . Comfy beds. A bit old fashioned but it is very very well equiped. Would definetly recommend. Good sized toilet for w/c user. Very quiet location. Car is a necessity. A marvellous welcome from Sue.
