Looked a nice place before we got there but on being showed go our room I was amazed- very comfortable, clean and good quality everything! Huge double shower and bed, cold water in foyer fridge and plenty of space Dinner in the bar was excellent, well sourced local produce meant to a tasty dinner. Breakfast was delicious, we’re slow eaters in the morning and probably tested their patience but the scrambled egg was one of the best I’ve had We asked for a later checkout which, although not popular, was agreed to and really helped us out All in all an amazing stay, shame it was only for one night. Highly recommend

Our stay at this lovely B&B was very enjoyable. Clean, comfortable, fabulous staff, gorgeous food. Lots to choose for breakfast but would recommend the full English, we had dinner too most nights again really lovely, recommend the faggots, fish pie, curry and the lamb burger. Room was clean, well proportioned, lots of storage, tea and coffee oh and biscuits. Bed was comfy. Location was good for getting around the area. Thank you to all the team especially Neal who does a mean bacon sandwich.

Probably the best room of any inn or hotel that my wife and I have stayed in. From the warm welcome to the room itself by friendly management and staff. Situated above the inn and accessed by a separate secure entry. On entry you are met with a generous lobby containing a fridge with free water and milk along with additional supplies of teas, coffees (including filter) and a microwave. The room itself contains a superbly comfortable bed, modern but tasteful furniture by way of a vanity unit and wardrobe and comfortable seating. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. The room is complimented by a more than ample spacious en-suite with a walk in shower. The accommodation was spotlessly clean throughout and covid compliant. You also benefit from allocated parking. The inn itself was again, spotlessly clean and decorated and furnished to a high standard. The staff were warm and friendly and there is a good selection of beverages on offer. The meals were of high standard, reasonably priced and of generous portions. Breakfast is included and this too offers a wide choice of full, continental or light choices and was superbly presented. This accommodation cannot be faulted in any way at all with a resounding 10/10 in every area. We will definitely be returning.…

Took an overnight break from a long car journey- staycation driving traffic jams etc- this place was lovely- clean welcoming there was allocated room parking - the shower and bathroom was enormous there was filter coffee which was a joy gorgeous biscuits water extra pillows it was faultless. I liked the fact the windows opened fully there was a privacy blind. The lobby had an extras tea coffee station with microwave useful. Breakfast was lovely vegetarian option available there was all the coffees and juices served to your table. I would recommend this place great if you want to see the area too.

We have family who live in Lychett Matravers so the Rose & Crown was the obvious place to stay whilst visiting them. The room was spotlessly clean and being recently refurbished, had everything we could need and more. As we stayed during COVID, the room wasn't cleaned or tidied each day, but we knew we could ask for fresh towels (anything really) if we needed it and there was a supply of tea, coffee etc along with bottles of water and toilet rolls in the small communal area outside our room. It felt like the accommodation and the pub were two completely different places as the decor and style was incredibly different - there was nothing at all wrong with the pub but we prefer the modern look and feel of the accommodation to the classic feel of the pub. We ate in the pub while we were there and as we are used to Northern prices, it did seem a little on the expensive side for standard, no frills pub food. The food was decent quality though and the price was reflective of the area. Breakfasts were tasty with good quality local produce. The staff were friendly and helpful.…
