Tripadvisor Reputation Pro: Private Surveys Guide

Learn how to collect detailed, private feedback from recent guests to help improve your guest experience

Guest feedback is one of the best ways to identify areas of improvement at your business. Leveraging recent reviews to determine enhancements you can make to your property is important, but soliciting direct, private feedback can be helpful as well. With Reputation Pro, you can easily request public Tripadvisor reviews and private guest feedback at the same time.

What do we mean by private feedback? Your survey responses are exclusively for your use, and:

  • Only appear in your Reputation Pro dashboard
  • Will not show up on your Tripadvisor property page
  • Will not influence your Tripadvisor rating or ranking

Follow these simple steps to create a customized, private survey and start collecting even more detailed information from guests today.

Step 1: Create your survey


Setting up your customized guest satisfaction survey is easy. To get started:

  1. Log into your Management Center, hover over the "Reviews" tab in the top navigation and select "Premium review collection" under Reputation Pro
  2. Scroll down to the "Guest survey feedback" section
  3. Click the "Create survey" button

Step 2: Add survey questions


Now it’s time to start building your survey by selecting the most important questions you want guests to answer. You can either use Tripadvisor’s recommended template or customize your survey by selecting up to seven questions from the list provided. The custom questions cover a variety of topics — overall guest experience, guest room, hotel staff, dining services and facilities — to help capture the feedback that’s most relevant to you.

A preview of your survey will be generated on the page in real time as you add and remove questions. Once you’re happy with your survey questions, click "Save survey." Don’t worry, you can edit your survey at any time.

Step 3: Update your email campaigns


After you’ve saved your survey, you’ll be prompted to add it to all of your future automated email campaigns. The survey will automatically be translated into all available languages and attached to your future campaigns.

If you’re not ready to add your survey to future campaigns, you can always add it later by toggling on the guest survey functionality in the "Automation status" section of the "Premium review collection" page. If you’d like to disable your survey after activating it, you can simply switch the same toggle off.

Step 4: View your results


Keep track of all the feedback you receive in the "Guest survey feedback" section of the "Premium review collection" page. You can see your average ratings at a glance or view the breakdown of all responses for each question by clicking the arrows on the right-hand side. You also have the option to download the raw survey data to further analyze offline.
